Pye-Barker Fire is proud to announce the acquisition of AA Fire in North Miami, FL. This addition comes after a series of big moves into the Miami market, starting in July 2019. With the addition of the AA Fire team, Pye-Barker will be expanding our kitchen suppression services to the surrounding community and gaining a team of skilled technicians to further support our customers in the area.
This deal was a very personal one for owner Pierre and his daughter, Debbie. Pierre and his wife, Linda, started AA Fire together in 1974 and worked hard to grow it into a successful company. Though Linda has since passed away, her impact has continued to sustain the company’s growth. For Pierre and Debbie, it was important to sell AA Fire to a company who would respect Linda’s legacy of putting the people first.
Debbie, who will be staying on as a scheduling admin, wrote the following in regards to the business her parents built and the decision to join the Pye-Barker family:
As a company who has always been about putting our customers first, when we started looking to transition out of the day to day operations of A A Fire Equipment that was still the most important thing. The second most important thing was making sure our employees and customers would be taken care of in a way we would be proud of. I can honestly say that we found that in Pye Barker Fire and Safety.
My mom and dad, Linda & Pierre Membrives, started A A Fire Equipment in 1974. And while it was a family company in every sense of the word possible, it also took a lot of time and hard work to build it into one of the longest running fire equipment companies in South Florida. My mom had a way with people. She loved them and they loved her. Customers, employees, contractors, inspectors… if they met her, they remembered her.
When I joined the company, it took some time to build the relationships she had with so many. When in doubt, my best introduction line was “I’m Linda’s daughter.” I am so proud to have been a part of a company like A A Fire that was created with love and built on the principles of providing outstanding service.
After my mom passed away a few years ago, my father, my aunt and I continued as best as we could to meet the needs of our employees and customers and continued to build A A Fire. But now the time has come for my father, who has worked hard for over 60 years- and for many of those years worked a separate full time job while helping create and tend to this amazing company- to step back and retire.
I am looking forward to the coming months as A A Fire Equipment Company joins the Pye-Barker Fire & Safety family. I truly believe they hold the best opportunities and future for both our customers and our service technicians. I am so thankful for the opportunity to become a part of the Pye-Barker family and know that this decision would have made my mother proud.
