The owner of Allstate Fire, Robert, started the company in 1989 and worked hard to build it from the ground up into the thriving business it is today. Our offer came in perfect time for he and his wife, who were ready to slow down and enjoy the fruits of their hard work. Robert wrote the following reflection on his journey through this industry, and to commemorate the company that he started, built, and sold to provide for his family:
In October 1989, at the age of 27 years old, I had a dream to start a fire protection company. After weeks of figuring out what to name the company and wasting many sheets of paper drawing logos I decided on Allstate Fire Protection. The very next month I decided to incorporate the company with the State of North Carolina. I then hit the road cold calling and slowly started building some clientele. I remember the local competition sending messages that Allstate would not last 6 months. Well, that’s what I needed to hear….. that motivated me and gave me the determination to be the best fire protection company east of Raleigh. My company won many sales awards for the Mid-Atlantic States Region for a number of years. Fast forward 28 years – the cold calling turned into 1000’s of customers with Allstate being one of the most recognized companies in the state. Thanks to the good Lord, the “6 months” lasted 28 great years. After lots of prayer, my wife, Julia, and I decided it was time to slow down, praying the Lord would open a door for a buyer. Well, the door opened and standing on the other side of the threshold stood Chuck Reimel with Pye-Barker Fire and Safety. After a couple meetings with him, I felt this was the company I wanted to do business with. A few weeks went by and I met the owner, Bart Proctor, and I knew for sure I wanted to become part of his team. So, November 1, my staff and I became players on the Pye-Barker team. We look forward to staying on board and continuing the Allstate Fire Protection quality for years to come. For all my loyal customers I just want to say “thank you from the bottom of my heart and I’m only a phone call away”.
