Pye-Barker is proud to share the expansion of our Louisville branch through the acquisition of B & R Fire & Safety.  This small, veteran-owned business specializes in servicing large industrial and chemical facilities and has become the area’s go-to place for live fire extinguisher training.

The business has grown through the efforts of owner, Robert Foster, his wife Karen, and their team.  His current technician, John Jutz, worked for him part-time while serving as a fireman then joined the business full-time after his retirement from the fire department.  Robert’s 27 years of industry experience and his wife’s skills at managing the office have helped the business earn the trust of their community, along with a sizable customer base.

When Robert knew he wanted to step down from business ownership, Pye-Barker came to mind.  He was already familiar with our presence, respected our quality of work, and knew joining our team would benefit him personally and professionally.  The opportunity to add B & R Fire to the Pye-Barker family provided us an easy way to expand our presence and gain industry expertise in the area.

As the B & R team becomes part of PBFS Louisville, Robert will join the branch as acting service manager and his lead technician, John Jutz, will join the branch’s field service team.  Karen will be retiring from her post in the office to enjoy some well-deserved vacation time.  Robert’s knowledge and loyal customer base are great assets to the branch and help Pye-Barker establish an even stronger presence in the northern Kentucky market.
