Empire Fire & Safety Inc. is a full-service fire protection company that was established in January 2006 by Dave and Lilia Walker. The company grew quickly in the Denver Metro area and beyond, eventually offering fire protection services to the entire state. In 2010, Empire’s success allowed them to acquire two industry competitors. The first, Red Comet, was Colorado’s oldest fire extinguisher company and had been in business since 1919. The second, AD-X Fire Protection, was a manufacturer of automatic fire extinguishers. Empire Fire and its two new additions continued to grow and excel in the state’s fire safety market.
Seven years later, Empire expanded services once again by acquiring Pyrotechs Inc, a fire protection company located in Casper, Wyoming. Finally, almost 14 years since its beginning, Empire Fire has joined the Pye-Barker family. We are proud to carry the legacy of not one, but four companies, through this acquisition and add our first branch in the state of Wyoming.
Throughout its tenure, Empire operated successfully as a small business thanks to the contribution of its employees, who all became family to both Dave and Lilia Walker. The Empire team will play a key role in Pye-Barker’s success moving forward in these markets. Not only will they help us establish a presence in Wyoming, but they will also help us become a fire protection powerhouse in Denver, Colorado, particularly by reinforcing our fire alarm and sprinkler capabilities in that area.
