Pye-Barker is proud to kick off our acquisitions for 2020 with the purchase of Certified Fire Protection in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is an exciting acquisition to start the year, as it establishes our company in a new territory and adds another state to our growing map.
Certified Fire Protection was started in November 1977 when it was incorporated by current owner Doug Sartain’s father and his brother. Doug’s father was not new to the industry, having founded the first fire protection company in Las Vegas in the 1950’s. As a result, Doug grew up in the industry and had an inside look at the work that goes into making a fire safety business successful. In 1988 Doug purchased Certified Fire Protection and continued to lead the company as it advanced.
What started as a portable fire extinguisher business quickly grew into a full-service fire protection & life safety company. “Customer service is the number one priority” remained the Certified Fire Protection mantra that helped them establish a solid reputation in the community. Their commitment to integrity and honor earned both the loyalty of their customer base and their employees. Their belief that they are only as good as their staff compelled them to encourage, sponsor, and train their employees to become educated in any area of the fire safety field they wished to pursue, resulting in a highly-qualified field team whose work is unmatched in the area.
When Doug decided he was ready to lighten his own responsibilities by sharing his success with another company, Pye-Barker was the automatic choice. He wanted to be a part of something bigger than Certified Fire Protection and give the company the chance to outgrow its local roots. Pye-Barker had been highly recommended to him by his peers in the industry whose companies had recently been acquired and joined the Pye-Barker team. These gentlemen could not have been more pleased with the experience and outcome of their sales, so Doug knew he was in good hands.
Through this acquisition, Pye-Barker gains a team of industry professionals and a substantial customer base that will automatically lend us a positive reputation in this new region. We are happy to have Doug staying on as branch manager and to have the help of his wife, Becky, in the early days of the transition. We are honored to carry on Doug’s multi-generational legacy and start protecting property and life in the Entertainment Capital of the World.
