Pye-Barker Establishes Branch in Washington!

PBFS Director of Business Development Chuck Reimel with Alpine Owner Steve Bounds

Pye-Barker is proud to announce the acquisition of Alpine Fire and Safety Systems in Burlington, Washington.  This acquisition helps the company tap into the thriving community surrounding Seattle and strengthens our presence on the Pacific coast.

Apline Fire in Burlington, WA was founded in 1981 by owner Steve Bounds with only $1000 and a van. Today it employs a full fleet of technicians with a 25,000 sq ft office/warehouse.  The team offers the sale and service of fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, and first aid supplies.  It also boasts the largest DOT Certified Hydrostatic Testing facility north of Seattle. They operate from an innovative and environmentally-conscious facility that we are proud to call our own.

Owner Steve credits his dedicated staff for helping him reach his current success.  They were his first consideration when the time came to leave the management of his company in another’s hands.

“I had many opportunities to sell my company but it was extremely important to protect my employees,” Steve said.  He shared that Pye-Barker’s “small family atmosphere” was what made him choose us over other buyers.

“It was a pleasure to be able to turn this over to a company that has so much integrity and takes good care of the well trained and dedicated staff that has allowed me 39 years of success,” he said.

Steve will be retiring after almost 40 years in the business, but says he “will enjoy stopping in from time to time” to visit his team and “experience their continued success.”

It is our great honor to carry on Steve’s legacy and to add such a talented team to the Pye-Barker family.  Welcome aboard, Alpine Fire!  We look forward to what the future holds.
