Pye-Barker Fire is proud to announce the acquisition of Haines City Fire Extinguisher Service, Inc. and Haines City Fire & Security Services, Inc., referred to jointly as “Haines City Fire”, located outside Orlando in Winter Haven, Florida. The acquisition follows Pye-Barker’s recent expansion in the area through the acquisition of United Fire Protection.

Haines City Fire was established in 1955 by husband and wife team Randolph and Caroline Willis.  It was taken over by their son, Michael Willis, and his wife Donna in 1972.  Haines City Fire grew from a part-time fire extinguisher company into a full-service fire protection provider, serving customers throughout the state and into Southern Georgia.

After nearly 50 years in the industry, driven by their passion for fire protection, the Willis’s are ready to retire and leave their company in Pye-Barker Fire’s hands so their team can continue to expand.

“We have known your company and some of the people behind the name for many years. Great people and a great company,” shared Michael.  “We are proud to turn over the reins to Pye-Barker Fire.”

The company’s current VP, Stephen Stanek, will become the acting branch manager of the new PBFS Winter Haven. The Willis’s are grateful to their team, who they credit for their success and who they thank for their years of dedicated work.  Mike said the following about the transition of Haines City Fire:

“Now that it is time for Donna and I to retire after a lifelong journey together nurturing and growing the companies, enjoying working with our fantastic staff and being involved with this very interesting and important profession of life safety, we are proud to turn over the reins to the Pye-Barker company. We will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary on May 15, 2021 knowing that these companies will be in good hands. A wise man, Joe Gibbs once said that one of the key to his success was to surround yourself with the best people. We have done just that. We would never have been able to achieve the level of trust by our customers, be as efficient, and perform at this level of professionalism if it wasn’t for the wonderful fellow team members that surround us.
